FOUND 2026-09-23 on the first Links list (screenshot of /sites/Projects/Lists/Links): the URL column shows the address as text. SharePoint renders a URL field as a hyperlink (FieldType URL, DisplayFormat Hyperlink) - that is what makes a Links list the place people go to find things. The list view XSLT should emit <a href> for FieldType Url, the way it already styles other types. NOT deferred: it is the difference between filing a pointer and giving someone one.
