In SharePoint an item's menu has Workflows: it lists the workflows associated with the list that allow manual start (SPWorkflowAssociation.AllowManual) and starts one on that item, recording it in Workflow History. SPICE today starts a workflow only from a status transition (an arc with Workflow=, the form's Next-step button), an event receiver, a schedule, or POST /agency/workflows//run. Declare it: AllowManual on the Workflow's association to a list or content type, a Workflows action on the item's display form listing those workflows, one click runs it with the item as input (ItemId) and records WorkflowHistory. Reuse the Workflow part (AppliesTo, TaskListSite already there); ask-first on the attribute names against the real SharePoint schema.
